New Orleans

I can finally say I’ve seen New Orleans.  We have spent the last couple of days boondocking at a casino and spent the first day touring the World War 11 museum.  It started out several years ago as The D Day Memorial and has grown and finally got its designation as a National museum.   It is a well put together museum and well worth the time if you are ever in New Orleans. If we had paid for more parking we could have stayed much longer.  We really thought 4 hours would be enough but we spent a hour seeing a movie about the war and then spent some time seeing the different airplanes and tanks.  The museum itself is divided into 2 parts.  The European side and then the Pacific side. Then they also had a special exhibit about POW camps in Germany.

Today we spent all day in the French Quarter.  We started the day having coffee and beignets at the Music Legends Park. Then walked up and down the streets.  I must say it was not what I thought it would be.  Thought the streets would be a little wider and cleaner.
We did have a pleasant surprise.  We met up with friends, Steve and Carol and had a wonderful time eating (of course) at the casino buffet.  Always good time when meeting up with friends.

  1. Been a long time since you met up with any of our group. Glad to see it finally happening again. Terry & Jeri pulled into Emerald Cove and are surprised to find out what a great park it is. They understand why you and I like it here so much now. Maybe they'll come join us next winter when I hope to see you back here, too.

  2. Be sure to go back at night. You can just sit and people watch. It is a hoot.

  3. It's nice that you're getting to play today. All work and no play certainly isn't fun! We pulled into one of your old-time parks yesterday for the first time .. Emerald Cove. You're right!! We like it here.
