Seattle

We started out early today.  We stopped for breakfast and then we were on our way to Seattle.  I wanted to go to the top of the Space Needle.  The Space Needle was built for the Worlds Fair in 1962.  At 605 ft tall, its the tallest structure west of the Mississippi.  Some views from the top.  I wish it had been a little clearer.

We walked around the base of the Space Needle.  There is a science center and a lot of shops.  We stopped to listen to this band. They we really good.  Never sang a word but every song was recognizable.

I also wanted to go to Pike’s Market.  It’s a huge farmers market.  We decided to leave the car parked and walk to mile to the market.  It was a beautiful day and the walk didn’t seem to bad.

It was sooo crowded.  Think the RV tent in Quartzsite on it most crowded day.  This was mostly fresh fish, produce and flowers.  If we hadn’t walked we might have bought some, but we did,  so we passed on this.

They did take our picture before we went up on the elevator.  Once up top they had kiosks where you could choose a background and have it emailed to yourself.  Our very expensive picture!

  1. You realize your new little camera can be used to self photo with your phone? Your phone works like a remote once you download the app and the picture is captured on both your phone and your camera. Great picture of both of you.

It's been a long time since we were up in the Space Needle. Looks like a perfect day.

  2. I was at that World's Fair in 1962. I only 11 yrs old. We did not go up the Space Needle.

We have never been to Pike's Place Market. Not big on crowds.

  3. You should have sung with the band; would have increased their tips.

  4. We had a great time at Pike’s Market but did not go up the Needle. We are a bit on the cheap side.

Hope you saw the original Starbucks. Very crowded the day we were there. We didn't go in.
