Our summer job here in Virginia has started part time. One of the advantages of coming in early, was that we were able to go and see Savannah at one of her last cheer competitions. It was a 2 day event, but we were only able to go on Sunday.
We left our campground about 7:30am and went to breakfast first. We then had to drive over to Virginia Beach which was about 120 miles away. We arrived at 11:30 and had to wait for Kim, Mark and Savannah to arrive from their hotel room. There must have been over 10,000 people there from all over. Some cheer teams came as far as Pennsylvania. (They are going to Hershey, PA in a couple of weeks)
Without the makeup.
They have glitter on the eyes. First Kim puts glue on the eyelids and then brushes on the glitter. First the blue and then the silver. Then she has blush put on (she says that if they don’t look like a clown they don’t have enough on). The last is the red lipstick.
Kim had this shirt made. It says:
“Cheerleader from bows to toe”
Cute right!!!
We really had a good time and really enjoyed seeing all the girls. They did really well placing 2nd in their age group.
Now its time for softball. Hopefully we will be able to see some of the games!!

Congratulations Savannah!
ReplyDeleteWe prefer softball season.
It is fun to be able to time our adventures and being there to share with family is certainly a bonus. I'm sure Savannah was happy you were there!
ReplyDeleteWhere in VA are you guys? You know my hubby is form VA and he still has family living there. And I lived in Northern VA for 15 years. Savannah is such a cutie. Our granddaughter does track and they love to fancy up their hair with bows. I just love it. So neat that you were able to be there to see her.
