We are still around

I know it might not seem like it but we are still around.  We have been in Bowling Green Kentucky since April.  When we first arrived here, allergy season was in full swing and both Ed and I succumbed to upper respiratory infections.  We had a heck of a time getting rid of our coughs.  Thank goodness we didn’t start training until April 26th and the park opened on May 5th.

Working at Beech Bend Amusement park is fun most of the time.   Ed is a team leader in one section of the park.  He over sees the Wild Mouse, Moby Dick, a small train, Dizzy Dragon and the Jumbo Elephant rides.

I work in ticketing, but we also run a gift shop where we rent lockers, strollers, electric scooters, and wheel chairs.  We also work in the photo booth for the Kentucky Rumbler.  This is our biggest ride and during the ride they take pictures.  We sell the pictures and its the best place to work! The faces of the children who ride this for the first time are priceless.  Even some adults are funny.

Yes this is Ed and I.  The park hosted a Coaster Club one Sunday.  Normal hours on Sunday are 11 to 7.  But this club came in at 9am and stayed until 10pm.  We opened a few of the rides from 8pm to 10pm and Ed worked the Kentucky Rumbler and I worked the photo booth.  The owner came by about 9:45 and said that Ed wanted me up on the platform.  I knew what was coming and the owner printed out the picture for us.

Beech Bend is not a huge park, only about 25 rides. But the Rumbler and Zero G are the biggest.  Ed just rode Zero G today.

Zero G takes you up about 50’ in the air and then releases and you drop in 5 seconds.
I would not ride this! But Ed has no fear!

Beech Bend also has a water park.  One day soon, I hope to take advantage of the lazy river and wave pool.

All in all, since we have to work during the summer, this isn’t a bad gig!
